St. Petersburg III May 03, 2017 Interactive Workshop
Breakout Sessions (Group 1) 11:00 - 12:00

This session will discuss a collaborative hospital-based tutoring partnership between their hospital and a local university non-profit student organization to extend educational opportunities for children with acute and chronic medical needs.  As the teaching team continues to expand educational services into hospital units with unmet educational needs, they have strategically aligned hospital and university resources to increase academic experiences for children.  The tutoring program partnership has greatly increased educational opportunities for hospitalized children and serves as a guide for program development for hospitals looking to expand on-site educational services.
